Known as JLZ, João Luiz is a Music Producer and DJ Born in Brasilia, Brazil. Starting in 2014 he explores and ceaselessly grows his work inside and outside his home country, followed by an extensive ongoing research that highlights his name as a reference for his genre in Brazil and around the world.

JLZ dedicates his work and research around Afrobeat to a diversity of percussion present in his productions. He has worked along with artists such as Linn da Quebrada, Mia Badgyal, Jaloo and Tuyo, and also co-produced Baco Exu do Blues last 2 albums, Bluesman and QVVJFA? the last one nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2022 and followed by an European Tour that went through Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, France and Ireland.

Side by side with producers and DJs VHOOR, MU540, RAMEMES and DJ BONEKINHA IRAQUIANA he is part of a group called Weird Baile, that creates sounds that puts together a futuristic and dark atmosphere in an astonishing composition.
