With the ability to manipulate both nostalgic and futuristic sounds, Surreal Sessions have become a mainstay in Cape Town's distinct Gqom scene, representing the city's Gqom denizens at both AFROPUNK and CTEMF in 2018/2019 respectively.

In 2018 Surreal Sessions, along with South African musical icons FAKA, became the sound track to Versace's 2019 Spring/Summer Men's Fashion show. The tracks were hand picked by Donatella Versace, which came as a climax after the critically acclaimed AmaQhawe the two duos collaborated on in late 2017.
