We’re excited to announce the collaboration between Space Black and Oroko Radio: A Sense of Home, and would like to invite you to our Accra Showcase at the Nubuke Foundation on 16th September!

The ‘Sense’ of Home.

The sense of ‘home’ is deeply ingrained in humans, rooted in a deep need for a sense of identity and belonging. The consequences of colonialism, the impact of technological evolution and centuries of migration has resulted in “home” becoming a deeply multidimensional concept for Africans and the diaspora.

Oroko Radio and Space Black will be inviting members of our communities in London and Accra to explore contemporary perspectives on the ‘Sense of Home’ using the five senses: touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight.

Expect music, food, panel discussions and art. At both events, we aim to celebrate how designers, artists, chefs and musicians of Africa and the diaspora are create their ‘Sense of home’.

If you would like to play a set at the open decks, please make sure to RSVP to info@oroko.live, to ensure you can be scheduled.

Special thanks to re:arc institute for sponsoring this event.
