With Guest: Richard Rumney aka Richard the Third began his musical career over two decades ago producing hip-hop for the likes of Hymphatic Thabs, the late Mischif, Tumi Molekane and plenty more. He then went on to be an indie-electro and dubstep DJ playing around SA and releasing music on labels such as African Dope.

His view of music was drastically changed when he began working with Spoek Mathambo, producing his debut album and touring with him around the US, South America and Europe. His work with the lustrous singer Moonchild Sanelly has seen some of his best work, their collaborations having received extensive radio play around SA.

Over the many years Richard has worked with the Red Bull Music Academy and Red Bull Studios in Cape Town which have involved working alongside some of South Africa’s biggest artists such as Black Coffee, DJ Zinhle and AKA in recording sessions, workshops, lectures and events.

These days his passions lies in story and sound-design based podcasts, producing music for film and continuing to embrace and connect with the world of electronic music in all its everlasting forms.
