At Afrohunting Radio, we’re always amplifying intercultural sounds, and today, we’re proud to introduce TOMBOY—a DJ from the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, whose beats blend the essence of Black music with modern club culture. 🎧🔥
With Guest: TOMBOY grew up surrounded by Black music at family parties on the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, sparking her early passion for music. She studied violin, flute, and voice, while immersing herself in house, drum & bass, samba, jazz, and hip hop. In her adult years, she became part of São Paulo’s vibrant rap scene, attending events and battles, and earned a degree in Art History to explore the impact of Black music and culture from the 1960s and 70s. She began DJing through the Todas Podem Mixar project with DJ Miria Alves, inspired by icons like Honey Dijon and Kaytranada. TOMBOY has since performed at major events like Nike Run 2024 and Radio Gatilho FM at Casa Natura Musical, opening for acts such as Fat Family and Luedji Luna.
