Ever since their inception by Sandile “MrBeats” Mntambo back in 2016, they've made waves with independent releases with the likes of ‘12 Colours' and theunforgettable ‘Mgido KaMzukulu.' They originated a sub-genre of Gqom music called uThayela, meaning “corrugated iron”. This name came to be about because this sound would quite literally shake the roof, due to uThayela’s characterized rougher and bass heavy sounds. Operating in the vibrant Newlands West area in Durban, Unticipated Soundz specializes in a wild and distorted variant of Gqom that's nothing short of unique. With their infectious and next generational sound, they have ignited dance crazes on social media and stirred up club riots with their high-energy, ear-catching productions.
