Chaos Theory invites Roni aka professor xt1ana

With Nebula

The second episode of Chaos Theory features an interview with and guestmix by Roni aka professor xt1ana. She is a is a self-described Ph(DJ) - referring to the connection between her work on her thesis in sociology and her practice as a DJ. Studying black “booty dancing” as a means of narrating and responding to global anti-blackness she has found herself enamoured by the formation of black identities and cultures in the club. This has culminated in her comedic yet insightful blog “drunk ethnography” in which she takes readers with her on her nights out in London. When she’s not stuck typing away in the library, she transforms her work into something audible. Shifting from the perspective of the dancer to the DJ, her musical practice seeks to playfully draw rhythmic connections across the diaspora with the intention of keeping the listener on their toes as musical locations shift and inciting them to buss a move.
