With Guest: Diego Hauz inhabits two worlds; strobing club rooms and salt-aired Caribbean nights. As a genre-breaking DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, NY, he takes you through a space spanning continents and genres. Pulling the influences from his home island of Puerto Rico, he blends the enthralling sounds of rave culture into unrelenting hours of dance; through reggaetón, guaracha, techno, house, jersey club and baile funk. A versatile performer, Diego can turn up a Perreo as well as shut down the rave. Diego is best known for bridging the gap between seemingly distant musical realms and pushing the expansion of genres. Club- tried and tested, you can find much of his original club music and mixes fused in unexpected ways with jersey club, techno and elements from Caribbean dance music like reggaetón and dembow. At home behind the decks, Diego Hauz has played on stages with the likes of international artists like Young Miko, and at events such as MoMA PS1 Warm-Up both on Boiler Room and Live. He’s also crafted mixes for international radio stations like The Lot Radio, Rinse France, NTS, Tidal, Vans Channel 66 and countless venues including Good Room, Elsewhere, Le Bain and Bossa Nova to name a few, as well as DJ a private event for Residente (Calle 13). More recently, Diego’s music production work can be heard closing out each night of Young Miko’s international tour. He boasts of almost a decade of experience on the stage and in the production studio. Diego Hauz continues to push the boundaries of his sound, fusing his Puerto Rican roots with the pulse of global rave culture. As both a performer and producer, his dedication to expanding genre definitions keeps dance floors alive and evolving. Diego not only captivates audiences but also forges new connections between cultures, proving that music is a universal language that transcends borders and genres alike.
