Lake Victoria – Nalubaale Edition

Lake Victoria, named after #Nalubaale, the source of the River Nile and a symbol of unity and sustenance, is a 60-minute radio program dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Uganda’s minority tribes and artists. With over 56 tribes, Uganda boasts a wealth of musical and cultural traditions, many of which remain underrepresented. Nalubaale seeks to amplify these voices, preserving and celebrating the unique identities that form the nation’s vibrant tapestry.

In this edition, Maganda Shakul experiments with vocals in Luganda while weaving in the voices of minority artists from across Uganda layered with high-tempo loops and powerful drum beats, creating a soundscape that bridges heritage and contemporary rhythm.
