With Guest: plygid is a Brookyn-based producer, DJ and multimedia artist. Their name, which derives from the Tagalog word 'paligid' meaning periphery or boundary, is a nod to the same quality which pervades their work, which oscillates between transcendent and familiar. plygid's range borrows from and destabilizes various genres of dance music, from techno, jungle and those in-between, subtly morphing them into ambient zones through the introduction of emotive synths, dissociated vocals and spectral grain. As a DJ, they have frequented various dance clubs in Brooklyn and NYC, spinning eclectic selections and crafting long blends underscored by deep grooves. Their audiovisual works have been featured in publications such as COEVAL Magazine and Broke Magazine, and their discography includes releases on labels like LA's Big Tent Records (Sensory Shell, SSH: Remixes), BK-based Siduri (Where Are You Roaming I), and UK-based Natural Sciences (Future Works VI Compilation — under their MIGUELNOTTHESINGER alias), with some of their earlier works used as backing tracks for various network shows.
