West African Wave: October Vibes

Welcome back to West African Wave, where I share sounds that get you moving, sometimes physically, sometimes emotionally, sometimes both. This month is all about rhythm and release, those tracks that remind us to feel the beat, and take a breath.

I’m really happy to be joined this month by my sister, Vanessa Kanbi. Through her YouTube channel, she’s been exploring life in Ghana and sharing thoughtful stories about culture, community, and identity. Beyond that, she’s doing some great work more broadly around storytelling and connection, especially for diasporans thinking about home in layered, evolving ways. It’s always a joy to collaborate with her, and this playlist very much reflects both of our tastes and journeys.

With Guest: Vanessa, my sister and the a phenomenal presenter, filmmaker, and podcaster, splits her time between the vibrant streets of Edinburgh and the rich culture of Ghana.
