With Guest: Ntokozo Thapelo Dumakude, known as Mrkiick, is a South African artist. Growing up in a musical family, with a father who was a rapper and Afro-pop singer, he developed a passion for music at an early age. At 13, he began producing music on his father's laptop, drawn to bass-heavy dance genres that differed from what he heard at home. Influenced by his mother’s roots in Umlazi, a township closely tied to Gqom, Mrkiick immersed himself in the Gqom scene in KwaZulu-Natal, forming and joining groups in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. In 2018, he adopted the name "Mrkiick," given to him by fellow artist GqomLorD.

Blending African cultural influences with Gqom, house, and electronic dance music, Mrkiick’s sound is defined by deep bass, powerful kicks, and intricate rhythms. His music combines the raw energy of Gqom with the groovy atmospheres of house, creating a unique style that bridges tradition and innovation. As an independent artist with over seven years of experience, Mrkiick aims to push the boundaries of these genres, believing in the power of African music to inspire and create lasting impact.
