With Guest: Kelvin Ibeleme, known to his fans as DJ Knator, is a versatile South African DJ and producer born and raised in Durban. His passion for music began at 14, and during his time at Wyebank Secondary School, he connected with like-minded peers who shared his love for the craft. Inspired by icons like Black Coffee, DJ Tira, Dlala Thukzin, DJ Kyotic, DJ Ndloh Jnr, Diloxclusiv, and DJ Lag, he dedicated himself fully to DJing after completing his matriculation. He refined his skills at Creative Arts College and quickly built a reputation in clubs, events, and private functions. Starting with small local gigs, he steadily grew his name, eventually sharing stages with Gqom pioneers like DJ Lag, Omagoqa, General C’mamane, and Funky QLA. His performances have taken him to renowned venues such as Empire Café, Eyadini Lounge, LIV, Envy, The Warehouse, and Joe Cools. In 2022, Djknator showcased his talent at the Durban Business Fair at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and participated in the Facts Durban Rocks picnic pop-up, performing alongside DJ Tira, Dladla Mshunqisi, and Qwabe Twins. In 2023, he collaborated with Slendar Da Dancing and Thuli P, the DJ duo 2Faced, further cementing his place in the industry. With his growing influence and undeniable talent, this is just the beginning for DjKnator.
