With Yasmina Karrum

In this show, I want to pay tribute to Gnawa music, a Moroccan musical and spiritual tradition with roots in Sub-Saharan Africa. The essence of Gnawa music lies in its healing rituals, which combine dance and spiritual trance.

Originating from the slaves brought from West Africa to Morocco, Gnawa music intertwined with Berber and Arab traditions, creating a unique genre that uses instruments like the guembri and the karkakas to generate deep and immersive rhythms.

This tribute will explore its ability to heal, unite, and transcend through time.
