For this one, Missy Da Kunt taps into the deep with a guest who knows the undercurrents like few do: FILAIPE — DJ, producer, and curator from Brazil, now rooted in Brussels. From the heat of São Paulo’s rave underworld to the queer DIY dancefloors of Europe, FILAIPE crafts sets that are both ritual and rebellion.
With Guest: FILAIPE is a queer DJ, producer and creative powerhouse from the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Growing up in the cultures of baile funk, hiphop and afrobrazilian music, his musicality has in its DNA a blend of syncopated rhythms from these scenes and the study of their intersections across other international scenes he is drawn by, such as sound system, rave, and, as of recently, the ballroom culture. Creator of Sociological Rave and resident at Escambo Radio, his work is quickly drawing attention in the underground scene of Europe, not only for his curation of energetic percussions, but also for creatively mixing them with other rhythmic sonorities.
