With MNFSTO SOUNDS

MNFSTO SOUNDS. explores the soundscapes that serves as a snapshot of the music scene in Toronto and creating a platform to introduce new vibrations that inspire us.

Toronto-based creative Sudaneeya takes you on a sonic journey throughout Africa. This mix blends diverse sounds from all over the continent. Some notable countries include Sudan, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Iman--also known as Sudaneeya--is a Sudanese multidisciplinary creative currently based in Toronto. Some of her creative practices include: DJing, photography, writing, and painting. She is currently focusing on her freelance photography business—which launched earlier this year, as well as creating spaces for BIPOC in Toronto’s nightlife industry.

Born in Cairo & raised all over the Middle East, Iman has been passionate about art since childhood. From playing a variety of instruments to capturing images of her day to day life with disposable cameras. She has always been fascinated with exploring and showcasing different cultures she encountered as she moved from country to country throughout the years (i.e. Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan & Qatar). In 2015, she moved to Canada to study Political Science at the University of Waterloo. During her undergraduate years, she co-founded the creative Diaspora Express. While the collective ran from 2017 - 2021, Iman discovered her love for podcasting, DJing, as well as curating community events. With the help of creative mentors & friends, she learned how to DJ and is now establishing herself in Toronto’s music scene.
