Mizizi (Swahili for roots), attempts to respond to the critique on what Kenyan music is by showcasing music exclusively from Kenyan artists and the Kenyan diaspora in all its forms whether it's original tracks, collaborations, productions, remixes, or any other contribution by a Kenyan.
Mizizi argues that there isn't just one "Kenyan sound" – that by being a Kenyan artist, in itself, is an answer to what Kenyan music is: diverse, creative, and pure gas. The show occasionally features guests, where we dive deeper into this conversation discussing the music scene, the country’s political climate (#RutoMustGo), appreciating jaba juice and anything/everything else in between.
For this episode, nowisgood and Ghedi explore the versatility of the country's club genre of the moment – Afro House.
