With Guest: Maldita Vaina (b. 1986, Long Beach, CA) is an artist, researcher, DJ, and facilitator who works with sound, movement, and the senses to liberate, activate, and uncover ancestral and historical memories that have been taken away, erased, or silenced from non-hegemonic bodies. Driven by their experiences as a nomad, prieta, queer, Dominican-Sudanese, Maldita Vaina likes to combine and recombine rhythms and genres in their mixes to produce soundscapes where bodies can rethink themselves.
