"The Black Pride Ball Amsterdam concept is an answer to the appropriative mechanisms now prevalent in European Ballroom Scene. As the majority of the European ballroom scene consists of those that are not culturally and ethnically linked to the roots of Ballroom, we look to facilitate a space that centers and highlights those that are rooted in education. Our categories and side events all enforce and honor the history of ballroom as an Sub-Saharan African Diasporic culture. With the organizers both coming from Ghana a personal desire and long term goal is to link the diasporic invention to the pioneering continent. The Black Pride Ball is an open to all space, with a clear vision and message where everyone can indulge in the creation of the ancestors and/or honor those ancestors.
