With Bridges For Music

This show has been produced and presented by co-creators at the Bridges for Music Academy in Langa, South Africa, a melting pot of exciting and refreshing African dance music made by tomorrow's talents.

With Special Guests: Fundi M & STABVirus.

Fundiswa Mbambani, aka Fundi, is a young and fierce woman from the rich soil of Langa township, a township rich in history and artistry. Having been exposed to a lot of legends from her township, she fell in love with music, and her love for decks followed naturally. She played at a number of stages and one of her biggest highlights was opening for the legendary group "Gold Fish" in 2021 and being featured on Pioneer's "A Langa story". As a Bridges for music alumni and ambassador, she is also involved in the organization. Standing up for women in the industry, she is busy penetrating all doors, whether they are open or closed. In her opinion, music is a thread that binds people of all races, cultures, and sizes together. Her most recent trip was to Amsterdam, where she played ADE and a couple of other events. STAB Virus are a South African duo of Siphe Tebeka and Makonwabe Bekwa. Going against local culture they focused on producing electronic music, a far cry from their traditional roots. Their debut release has been signed to the titantic Saura label based in Spain, run by the Techno visionary that is Coyu. The ‘Unknown Song’ has received widespread support from the biggest names in the industry among them none bigger than the legend Laurent Garnier. This year has seen them grace the biggest local stages from sold-out festivals to peak-time club performances. Made up of Makonwabe 'Audiojerk' Bekwa and Siphe "Messive" Tebeka, both successful artists in their own right, together they bring something fresh to the musical landscape. Expect nothing but the best from these two as they break away from anything close to traditional and carve a fresh path through the Techno universe.

Bridges for Music is a non profit organisation focused on empowering young talent from under-served communities to become creative change-makers, providing 21st century- tools and equipping them with the psychosocial and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in the creative industries.

Through our schools, like the Bridges Academy in Langa, we provide safe spaces and holistic learning programs to enhance the creative potential of young people at-risk and facilitating their access to income generating opportunities. Employing a methodology rooted in “Self Determination Theory”, we develop resilient, self-aware, and self-efficacious agents of change who are able to transcend the cycles of poverty and trauma that circumscribe them and their communities.
