Unlock The Door

With Rare Treat

Removing the borders between Africans across the world, Unlock The Door aims to elevate artists and the art of bringing sounds together, highlighting drums, melodies, samples, spiritual messages and ritualistic practices within music by speaking with artists, composers, creators, explorers, change makers, tastemakers, builders, and visionaries. Together we deconstruct, explore and discuss (audio) visions for the future.

Special Guest: Craig Stevens is co-founder and Operations Director of (B.A.S.S.) the Black and African Solidarity Show, where he is an event organiser, curator, and poet. This published writer is also a doctoral student at Northwestern University in Chicago. His work seeks to express anthropological and historical data through artistic forms and creative processes. Craig’s archaeological research investigates the placemaking processes of nineteenth-century Black American and Caribbean settlers in West Africa.
