With Kobby Ankomah Graham, Lizz Johnson, Ghanaian Stallion, Kwaku-T

Developing cultural communities through online platforms.

The two residents of the online radio Oroko, Kobby Ankomah Graham and Lizz Johnson, talk about the development of alternative cultural scenes in Accra and the importance of radio and online platforms. Also in conversation Ghanaian Stallion and Kwaku-T, two musicians who discover having made similar experiences with their music at different times. Kwaku-T came from America to Ghana in the early 90s and laid the foundation for an African urban sound with his hip-hop duo Talking Drums. Ghanaian Stallion made himself a name as the in-house producer of Berlin rapper Megaloh and in recent years has devoted himself more and more to African pop sounds. Most notably as the producer of an artist of Kumasi's Asaaka scene, Black Serif. Their song 'Second Sermon' not only won the award for the 2021 Song of the Year in Ghana, but also prompted the first Grammy award winner for Afrobeats, Burna Boy from Nigeria, to record a remix of the song. Black Sherif thus established himself, as one of the most sought-after up-and-coming artists on the continent. The music recognition app Shazam announced that his song was the most searched for worldwide in April 2022.
