With OKRA Collective

"Dagaal nin aan aqoon baa ku orda" is a dj set inspired by a Somali saying meaning "A man who doesn’t know about war is likely the one who rushes to it."

I returned to my Ethiopian and Somali heritage, working with samples from my homelands and drawing from their inspirations. I hope you will enjoy this journey back home with me.

With Guest: Bone Black (He/they), a DJ and producer, delves into a sonic realm where dark, hard-hitting Gqom meets the rhythmic cadence of Afrohouse, interwoven with stuttering vogue beats and percussive diasporic tracks. His soundscapes craft a unique narrative, offering a profound glimpse into a digital afrofuture. As a co-founder of @collectifqult & @kau.ri and Atlas at the kiki @the.house.of.dorsey.swann, Bone Black embraces a fluid identity, transcending conventional labels for over 18 years in the local and international scenes. Bone Black’s musical repertoire spans afrobeats, gqom, and a touch of amapiano, resonating with diverse audiences across continents. Their creative process, fueled by collaboration and inspiration, transcends geographical boundaries, fostering a global dialogue of artistic expression.
