On this episode of The MnR Show, our guest, British Ghanaian curator, artist and founder of An Ode to Highlife, Paulina Nkansah shares her life through 11 highlife tracks and it is safe to say that highlife is the backdrop of her life. The conversation touches on her vivid memories growing up watching her parents hosting parties, living as Ghanaian in a foreign space and finding her creative juice through highlife music and wax prints. The two hour conversation also touches on women in the creative sector in Africa, finding balance as one navigates Adulthood and her thoughts on the contemporary highlife scene. Elizabeth Johnson is a writer and researcher of Ghanaian-Nigerian heritage. Her short stories, poetry and creative nonfiction have appeared in a few online and print publications. She works with The Writers Project of Ghana as a project and media coordinator and manager of their annual literary festival, Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra. She also works with The Library of Africa and the African Diaspora( LOATAD) and produced the maiden edition of their festival, Womanfest Ghana.
