Space Black is a creative design studio of Black Engineers, Architectural Designers and artists, exploring alternative spatial futures for marginalised communities. Through Education, Concept Design & Research and Culture, Space Black explores how cities and spaces can be designed to accommodate for the needs and perception of underrepresented and marginalised communities to enable them to thrive.

Their residency with Oroko is an ongoing study of the role music plays in the relationship African communities and their diaspora have with their urban fabrics . Their collaborations with Oroko's roster and beyond gives artists and designers a platform to share how music has informed their practice. How our deep and cultural relationship to sound, has laid the foundation for both sites of resistance and Black imagination, beyond the White gaze.
