In the hope to build an ecosystem of like-minded artists, I'll be using this show to embark on different sonic journeys and uncover the stereotypes linked to Afro artists who express themselves in alternative musical forms. PS: We exist in every genre... From Indie to Alternative to Folk and even Country.
A free-spirited singer/songwriter, poet, guitarist and visual storyteller with music at the core of his expression. Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, to a multicultural family, Oluwatomiwa Oyakhilome Suleiman has accumulated all the perceptions of his realities, which also includes him moving to Ghana at 18 years old for his tertiary education, turning them into explorable art. He considers himself an artist with multi-soulful genres at the brim of his DNA, offering an introspective organic blend of Afro Indie acoustics and poetic monologues. Written in English (Fluent, Yoruba"lised and pidgin), his works are built on rich folkloric native wisdom through which he brings to life a sub conscious knowledge which have the potential of being mutual, offering closure to the listener.
